Overview
The "Ghost Galleries" series of digital prints show images of art exhibitions from which the objects themselves have been erased, leaving only a shadow. The "white box" gallery is supposed to act only as a neutral backdrop for the art, but I often find myself at least as interested in the space and the play of light and shadow around the objects. By erasing the art objects, the gallery itself becomes the artwork.
One of the "Ghost Galleries" is a little different. Here I started with an empty gallery to emphasize the quality of light pouring through from the rear storage area.
