The Oeuvre of Salvador Dali Reduced to a Reasonable Size
1992-93
30.5 x 23 x 1 cm
This project is an attempt to cope with the extreme disparity between works of interest by Salvador Dali and the sheer size of his ouevre, which must in the nature of things contain a good deal of dross. Through overpainting and other alterations, a commercially printed book of Dali paintings has been reconfigured to present the Dali that the museum prefers. The book was then handsomely rebound and returned by the museum to the oeuvre of Salvador Dali. Here are shown a small number of the altered images and pages in this book.
